Warranty

At Millbank Family Furniture all our furniture is handcrafted to be enjoyed for generations. We stand behind the quality of our products and offer to the original purchaser, under normal household use, the following limited warranties.

Wood Furniture: 10 Years Limited Warranty – Construction & Workmanship

Wood has many natural and distinctive characteristics. The beauty of solid wood furniture is the variations in wood grain, and colour and the natural changes in colour over time. These are normal characteristics that contribute to the authenticity of solid wood and are not considered defects.

The following exceptions are not covered under warranty. First, normal wear and tear. Second, misuse/abuse or any condition resulting from improper maintenance, cleaning, or care. Third, damage caused by, dropping, or sliding objects, not using protection under hot or cold objects, and leaving wet items on surfaces for an extended period of time. Lastly, excessive shrinking and expanding resulting from the lack of or too much humidity in the home.

Outdoor Furniture: 10 Years Limited Warranty

We offer a 10 Years Limited Warranty on our outdoor furniture which is made from high quality HDPE resin which is the industry standard for all things outdoor. It can withstand high and low temperatures and high impacts. The resin is UV protected for protection against outdoor elements such as sun rays. We use all stainless steel hardware for joinery to build a maintenance free product that can last for generations.

Warranty for Mattresses, Fabric, Leather & Furniture Accessories. We do not manufacture these products ourselves. Therefore, we can only offer the warranty that is offered through the manufacturers. Please ask for details if needed.

Product Care

You will be able to enjoy the beauty and durability of solid wood furniture for generations, with a little care and maintenance.

Maintaining Humidity

Solid woods response to dry air is to lose moisture and shrink a bit. This will cause some parts of your furniture to part slightly, and tiny openings may appear. This will correct itself as the relative humidity rises, and the wood absorbs enough moisture to expand again. In extreme conditions the wood may be under enough stress to crack.

Solid woods response to high humidity levels is to absorb moisture. This can result in making moving parts non-functional or may force apart mitred corners. This should correct itself when your relative humidity returns back to a normal percentage.

Please maintain your environment at a rate of 35% – 45% relative humidity.

Cleaning

We recommend that you clean solid wood furniture with water only or mild dish soap with water, as cleaning solvents and polishes will damage the finish. Some examples of cleaning solvents and polishes are: pledge, endust, murphy oil etc.
