Another wonderful experience
My husband and I went to Millbank Furniture (this time) to ask about having a custom made coffee table built. We used a bench they had on their show room as inspiration and changed the size a bit. They provided us with a couple of quotes and they were extremely helpful in helping us pick out a stain for the piece. They advised the piece would take up to ten weeks to complete. When, under that time frame by a couple of weeks, they called to say it was ready, we went to pick it up (although delivery was offered). The stained wormy maple wood has so much texture to it. It looks very modern but comfortable in the sitting room it was designed for. This is the fourth piece we’ve worked with Millbank Furniture on and once again, we’re exceptionally pleased with the end product and would recommend anyone looking for that special piece of furniture, to visit Millbank Furniture. Our pieces will be handed down to generations to come!

Outstanding quality and service
We purchased a large Leka dining table and 12 chairs for our dining room. As a large family, with some small kids, we weren’t sure what to purchase that would be comfortable and provide us with the look we were after. Our every expectation has been exceeded. The colour of the table, the chairs that were recommended and the whole look together is exactly what we wanted. The only thing better than the products themselves was the service we received. We visited the store a few times before purchasing and each individual the offered us help were outstanding. They helped us chose the table based on our very vague descriptions and moved chairs all over the store so we could see what each idea we had would look like like. They are knowledgeable about stain, grain and woods and helped us select the right product for our family. Wood and Stain
Wood has many natural and distinctive characteristics. As wood is a natural product each board has its own unique growth pattern. This means that no two trees will look the same and there will be varying wood grain and patterns with each piece of furniture. Each board will have slight variation in colour depending on how the wood absorbs the stain colour. This is not considered a defect as it does not affect the structural integrity of the wood.
Pine is a creamy white colour and knots are a common characteristic. The grade of pine used is “one common” grade. This demands only tight knots and less defects. The knots will also be small and are not as dark and coarse as the knots in a lower grade.

Wormy maple also comes from maple trees, but trees that have been infested by the ambrosia beetle. This small beetle bores a network of tunnels and short galleries called cradles. These cradles appear as small holes in the wormy maple wood. There will also be black and grey streaks that accompany each tunnel and adjacent wood, a fungus is responsible for this. The holes and streaks add a unique look to the wood without affecting its structural integrity and as the wood is kiln dried, it will contain no beetles.

Delivery
1. Store Pick Up: You can pick up the furniture yourself but as this furniture is handcrafted piece by piece and doesn't arrive in a container from a foreign place we do not have boxes for the furniture but expect you to bring your own blankets to wrap it in, bring plenty for safe transit.
2. Delivery Within 250km From Our Store: We offer delivery to most Southern Ontario based on your distance from Millbank at an extra fee. Our furniture is blanket wrapped to save waste from packing and our delivery men are quick and professional.
3. Outside Our Southern Ontario Delivery Range: For any customers outside our Southern Ontario delivery range we use a local shipping company and wrap the furniture in cardboard and foam to protect it. Alternatively, you can coordinate to have a company of your choice pick it up here from us. We will need to quote this shipping and/or packaging for you based on your order size, packaging needs, and available logistics in your area.
Our
Warranty
Our wood furniture is all handcrafted by local craftsmen out of solid kiln dried wood and if you keep your humidity levels between 35% and 45% it will not shrink or crack. But if for some reason your furniture does not stand up to normal everyday use we offer a 10 Years Limited Warranty on any construction defects. Remember this is wood not metal so it can be dented and scratched. If some piece has received misuse we are not responsible for it and the warranty will be voided.
