I have dealt with other solid wood furniture retailers and Millbank Furniture stands out amongst them. Your website is by far the best making it a pleasure to view many of the products offered and compare pricing before visiting and ordering. I custom ordered a Hudson Valley bookcase and a Newport desk recently both of which I am very pleased with despite the fact that the bookcase that I actually received was not exactly the model I initially chose (the two models being so similar). However it all worked out well in the end. The final finishing that is done in house by Millbank is absolutely the finest and I really appreciate the very extensive choice of gorgeous stains offered. All staff that I dealt with were very helpful and kept me informed of every detail in the status of my orders and delivery. I only wish I had started my solid wood furniture shopping here from the beginning.

Wood and Stain
Wood has many natural and distinctive characteristics. As wood is a natural product each board has its own unique growth pattern. This means that no two trees will look the same and there will be varying wood grain and patterns with each piece of furniture. Each board will have slight variation in colour depending on how the wood absorbs the stain colour. This is not considered a defect as it does not affect the structural integrity of the wood.
Maple: maple trees consist of both sapwood and heartwood. Sapwood tends to be lighter in colour with a greyish white hue and the heartwood will vary from light to dark reddish brown. For the maple wood, only the sapwood is used, and the heartwood is sorted out.
Brown Maple: brown maple comes from the same tree as maple. The difference being that with maple the heartwood is sorted out, but with brown maple both the sapwood and the heartwood are used. Therefore, the brown maple is not as consistent in colour as maple because there will be a mix of the greyish white hues from the sapwood and the reddish hues from the heartwood.

Delivery
1. Store Pick Up: You can pick up the furniture yourself but as this furniture is handcrafted piece by piece and doesn't arrive in a container from a foreign place we do not have boxes for the furniture but expect you to bring your own blankets to wrap it in, bring plenty for safe transit.
2. Delivery Within 250km From Our Store: We offer delivery to most Southern Ontario based on your distance from Millbank at an extra fee. Our furniture is blanket wrapped to save waste from packing and our delivery men are quick and professional.
3. Outside Our Southern Ontario Delivery Range: For any customers outside our Southern Ontario delivery range we use a local shipping company and wrap the furniture in cardboard and foam to protect it. Alternatively, you can coordinate to have a company of your choice pick it up here from us. We will need to quote this shipping and/or packaging for you based on your order size, packaging needs, and available logistics in your area.
Our
Warranty
Our wood furniture is all handcrafted by local craftsmen out of solid kiln dried wood and if you keep your humidity levels between 35% and 45% it will not shrink or crack. But if for some reason your furniture does not stand up to normal everyday use we offer a 10 Years Limited Warranty on any construction defects. Remember this is wood not metal so it can be dented and scratched. If some piece has received misuse we are not responsible for it and the warranty will be voided.
